Commencing operations in 2014, the Dalrymple Trade Training Centre is a purpose built training facility funded jointly by the Commonwealth Government's Trade Training Centre's in Schools Program and four of the local secondary schools.
The centre is a partnership between:
- Charters Towers State High School (as Lead School);
- All Souls and St Gabriel's;
- Columba Catholic College; and
- Charters Towers School of Distance Education.
With seed funding provided by the partner schools, and a Commonwealth grant of approximately $6 million, all ongoing operational costs are met by the partner schools through both direct contributions and centre business activities.
Under the terms of the agreement, the centre exists to provide a service to students from the four partner schools; although, services to the broader community also contribute to the ongoing operations of the centre.
